Placing Book Requests (Holds)

(NOTE: Requests can be made for any circulating item (available or checked out) from any USMAI library, however, requests for HS/HSL items can only be placed for those that are checked out.)
- Go to Library Catalog (catalogUSMAI) from the Library’s website
(http://www.hshsl.umaryland.edu/main.html)
- Click on "sign in".
- Enter your 14 digit HS/HSL barcode number and your last name and click the yellow "sign in" button.
- After searching for an item, click on the title.
- Next, click on "Availability"
- Click “Request” to request an item, choosing a pick-up library and the date needed by.
