Bio |
Meredith received her Master’s degree in Library Science from Emporia State University in August 2006. She was a National Library of Medicine Associate Fellow from 2006 - 2007. While at the National Library of Medicine, Meredith volunteered with LifeGuard D.C., an AIDS prevention organization. Meredith was the Library Technical Assistant for Tuality Community Hospital’s Health Sciences Library and Health Information Resource Center in Hillsboro, Oregon from 1998-2006. The library focused on providing patients and community members with health and nutrition information.
Since Meredith’s arrival at HS/HSL in September 2007, she has been busy organizing outreach activities in the community on behalf of the Library, and working with UMB's Outreach Council. Her goal is to collaborate on projects and grant awards to promote HS/HSL's resources and those of the National Library of Medicine to empower users to be well informed, health literate patients.
Meredith is looking forward to getting to know the UMB community and the citizens of Maryland, and assisting them with their health information needs.
