Loansome Doc is a feature of PubMed which allows users who are unaffiliated with a library to request the full-text of articles they have found citations for in PubMed. These journal articles may be ordered online directly from PubMed or by using the Loansome Doc Ordering Screen. Once ordered, requests are sent to DOCLINE, the National Library of Medicine's online ordering system, which transfers the request to potential providers of the articles and then sends the full-text articles back to the Health Sciences & Human Services Library (HS/HSL) to deliver to the requestor in the delivery method of preference, chosen when registering for the Loansome Doc service.
To learn more about the Loansome Doc service and how to select a provider library, see the Loansome Doc Fact Sheet from the National Library of Medicine. Contact the NN/LM SEA office at 1-800-338-7657 for the names of provider libraries in your geographic area.
The HS/HSL serves all users within the United States not affiliated with a medical library.
