Requirements for Accessing the HS/HSL Electronic Journal Collection

The Health Sciences and Human Services Library has licensed access to many of the journals in HS/HSL Electronic Journal list. These journals are available to faculty, staff and students of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. A Library barcode is required to access the journals from off campus.

Adobe Acrobat is required in many cases in order to view an article. If you do not have this software on your computer, go to Adobe Acrobat.

Important Points to Remember About Electronic Journals

Electronic journals come from various providers. Navigation methods may differ from title to title. Most of the titles in the HS/HSL electronic journal collection will link directly to the journal. MD Consult is an exception. You must perform a search by journal name within the database to retrieve the title. Go to instructions.

Years of coverage are subject to change without notice. Publishers periodically add earlier volumes to their digital collections without notification.

Currency may vary. Some titles may appear electronically as soon as they appear in print while others may have restrictions placed on them for various periods of time. For example, an electronic version of a journal may be six months to one year behind the print version.
