Dentists

  • The American Dental Association (ADA)'s Find a Dentist allows the public to search the ADA membership directory.


  • The Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA)'s Find A Dentist allows the public to access the MSDA's database of practicing dentists in Maryland.

Doctors
  • The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) provides information on board certification status, location by city and state and specialty of any physician certified by one or more of the 24 Member Boards of the ABMS. Registration is required.


  • AMA Physician Select provides information on licensed physicians in the United States and its possessions. The site is provided by the American Medical Association.


  • DocFinder is provided as a public service by the Administrators in Medicine's (AIM) member state medical and osteopathic boards. Maryland information is provided by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance.

Health Departments
Hospitals/Health Care Organizations
  • The American Hospital Directory from the American Hospital Association provides information for most hospitals.


  • The Association of Academic Health Centers provides links to the web pages of over 100 academic health centers.

  • Directory of America's Hospitals AHA has joined forces with U.S. News & World Report to produce this consumer-oriented online directory of hospitals in the U.S. The free directory encompasses more than 18,000 Web pages containing key information and statistics on more than 6,000 hospitals in all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the territories. The data can be searched by hospital name, state, region and type of hospital. Hospital-specific data ranges from location and contact information to services provided, number of beds, staffing and admissions.

  • Directory of Information Resources Online (DIRLINE) contains location and descriptive information about a wide variety of information resources including organizations, research resources, projects, and databases concerned with health and biomedicine.

  • Find a Hospital provides information on over 6,000 hospitals in the United States, including driving directions. (The hospital data comes from the American Hospital Association and the mapping feature is provided by MapQuest.)


  • Quality Check from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an online directory of healthcare organizations.

  • Toll-Free Numbers for Health Information
    These selected toll-free numbers for organizations provide health-related information, education, and support. These organizations do NOT diagnose or recommend treatment for any disease. The list is provided by the National Health Information Center.
