On May 1, 2006, the University of Maryland Health Sciences and Human Services Library began a $11.2 million, five-year contract from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to serve as the Regional Medical Library (RML) for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Southeastern/Atlantic Region. The mission of the Network is "to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public health by:
The SE/A, along with its seven counterparts across the country and the Network Office at NLM, provide the leadership in regional and national outreach efforts to fulfill the Network mission NN/LM SE/A members include 31 resource libraries and over 1,100 primary access libraries and organizations in Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and U.S. Virgin Islands. The NN/LM SE/A office is located on the fifth floor of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, 601 West Lombard Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Please contact the staff for further information.
