Adjunct Faculty Access Policy and Procedure
     

Policy:
Adjunct faculty are granted access on an annual renewal basis to the same library resources and services as regular faculty at the UMB provided they meet the following criteria and follow the procedures for obtaining access as set out below. Adjunct faculty are subject to the same rules and responsibilities governing library use as regular faculty.

Procedures:
  1. Adjunct faculty must come to the HS/HSL Circulation Desk in person to complete the registration process.


  2. Adjunct faculty must have a UMB ID or ID from another institution in the University System of Maryland to which a barcode will be affixed.


  3. They must complete a registration form with pertinent information to be entered into the library information management system. (Registration form).


  4. Adjunct faculty must also have an official appointment letter on letterhead from their UMB school or program's dean or director stating:

    1. Their official appointment to a specific school or program.


    2. The expiration date of their appointment. Since adjunct faculty appointments are for one year, library access will expire upon the expiration date of the appointment. It is the responsibility of the adjunct faculty member to provide proper documentation to renew their access.


  5. The Responsible Use Agreement stipulating resources are to be used solely for educational purposes must be signed annually. (User Agreement).
