Children In the Health Sciences and Human Services Library Building
The Health Sciences & Human Services Library supports the research, education, and clinical information needs of the University of Maryland, Baltimore health and human service professionals. This policy refers to the library building, including the café.

In order to insure a scholarly environment for the Library's primary clientele and to insure the safety of any children visiting the Library, the following policy regarding children in the HS/HSL is in effect:

  • Children, ages 12 or younger, must be accompanied by an adult (at least 18 years old)
at all times while in the Library. For safety reasons, unattended children will be taken to the Guard Desk to wait for a parent or guardian.

  • Children, ages 12 or younger, are not allowed to use the computers or operate photocopiers.

  • Parents will be asked to remove children who exhibit disruptive behavior.

Failure to comply with these policies may result in the loss of library privileges for the day.

Thank you for your cooperation.
