    We will cover a variety of basic and advanced imaging informatics topics using Open Source and commercial software. Series topics will alternate between basic and advanced. Students will get hands on applying skills gained through attendance at the workshop. There will also be opportunity for Q&A with presenters on specific questions. Registration is limited to 25 attendees. All overflow registrants will be added to a waitlist and you will be notified if the session is full.

You will learn about the interfaces of each system, as well as what the advantages and disadvantages are for each. At the end of the presentation you will be able to make an informed decision about which citation manager best fits your needs.

In this workshop you will learn how to organize and share references, build bibliographies, annotate PDFs within the tool, and insert citations in your papers as you write. Mendeley is freely available in both web and desktop versions. While not required for attendance, please consider bringing your own computer to the class in order to set up your personal Mendeley account.

  • Communicating with Patients

    Are you aware of your patients' ability to understand and act on the information you give them? There is evidence that health care providers overestimate what patients are able to understand. Low health literacy is associated with higher mortality, higher rates of hospitalization and readmission, and poor self-management skills for chronic disease. This workshop covers the basics of health literacy & clear communication including tools that will assist you in creating easy-to-read materials. The last half-hour of the workshop will provide an optional hands-on opportunity to put difficult medical jargon into plain language.

In this online workshop you will learn how to set up EndNote libraries, organize references, build bibliographies, and insert citations in your papers as you write. Note: You do not need to have an EndNote license to join this workshop, but to use EndNote on your own you will need to purchase a license if you do not have one already.
