RefWorks is a web-based citation manager that can save you time and ease your workload. In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to organize references, build bibliographies and insert citations in your papers as you write. RefWorks is free to all UMB faculty, students and staff.
This workshop provides an overview of the systematic review process. Find out what you should know before starting, important steps for conducting a review and resources to help you throughout the process, including the HS/HSL Systematic Review Service.
This class will cover the National Library of Medicine's PubMed database. Topics include basic searching, searching using the MeSH (Medical Subject Heading) database, creating a personal account using MyNCBI, and locating full text articles. We will also cover the Clinical Queries and Systematic Reviews search features. The majority of the class will be dedicated to creating and executing literature searches.

EndNote is a desktop-based citation manager that can save you time and ease your workload. In this online workshop you will learn how to set up EndNote libraries, organize references, build bibliographies, and insert citations in your papers as you write. Note: You do not need to have an EndNote license to join this workshop, but to use EndNote on your own you will need to purchase a license if you do not have one already. Discounted licenses are available through CITS.

Join us for a session on how to create effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. In this class, we explore steps in creating a basic slideshow, including getting started, inserting graphics and hyperlinks, and different methods of saving and presenting. We will also discuss the best methods for presenting visual and text-based information to make a strong impact on your audience.
