Julie Nanavati Julie Nanavati
Liaison and Outreach Services Librarian, Health Sciences and Human Services Library, University of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland

Julie currently serves as the Library's Liaison to the UMB School of Pharmacy. In her role as liaison, Julie teaches library instruction to the campus community, assists School of Pharmacy students, faculty, and staff in their research activities, participates in collection development, and helps the School of Pharmacy in their outreach efforts. Julie has been an ex officio member of the School of Pharmacy curriculum committee since September 2006.

Before coming to the HS/HSL, Julie worked as a Graduate Assistant and later as a Reference and Research Librarian for the Maryland AIDS Administration Resource Center. She received her Masters in Library Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005.

Julie's interests include technologies that better connect users to resources and information, copyright and fair use issues, health literacy among teen and adult populations, global health, and instructional design. She is currently a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA), Mid-Altantic Chapter of MLA, American Library Association (ALA), Special Libraries Association (SLA), and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).

Did you know that there are a number of medical images and relevant photos on Flickr beyond the standard vacation photos? Come learn how you can find pictures to suit multiple needs. The class will: create an account, join a group, upload a photo, add descriptive tags to photos, and search for medical images
