Downloading and Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader

You may want to print out these instructions before you start downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader. When you are ready to start downloading, click on the Download Adobe Acrobat Reader Now! link below and you will be taken to Adobe's web site to start the download process. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader Now!

In the Step 1 box, choose the Language, Operating system and Location. You are NOT required to fill in your Name and E-mail address in Step 2. After completing Step 1, click on the red Download button below the Step 3 box.

After clicking the Download button, the browser will be directed to another page. There will be a delay, but you will eventually see the File Download window in the middle of your screen as seen in the screen shot below. Next, click on the OK button.

A Save As box will open asking where you want to save the file. Click on the drop down Save in text box and select Desktop (see below). The file name should appear in the File name box, then click on the Save button to begin downloading the file to your computer.

The file itself is about 5.20MB so it will take a little while to download. Once the download has completed, there will be an icon on your desktop similar to the following picture. The file name is ar40eng.

To install the program, double click on the icon. There may be a delay before you see the next screen. Click on the Next button on the Adobe Reader Setup welcome screen (see below).

Read the Software Licensing Agreement and click on the Accept button (see below).

Click on the Next button at the Choose Destination Location screen (see Below).

Once the installation is complete, a dialog box will open which says, "Thank you for choosing Adobe Acrobat Reader!"

Click on the OK button to complete the installation.
